Middle School Faithworks Service Program

FaithWorks is a service oriented, cross-cultural learning experience that is an important part of the middle school curriculum. Within FaithWorks, students will have the opportunity to contribute and seek to improve situations in neighboring countries that have significant socio economic and spiritual needs.

While staff and teachers are committed to educate minds and transform lives to impact the world for the glory of God, service-learning experiences provide a way for students to pursue convictions and practically apply what we believe in and what they are learning within the classroom to real-life situations. They will be able to explore the unique way they were created by using their gifts and talents, begin to think critically as they work within cross cultural settings and become quality communicators and empathetic problem solvers by working together with their team and the host organizations.

This year, our vision and goal is for every middle school student to participate in serving, learning, and growing together through our Telunas Service Trip. We believe this service trip will not only bless others, but will provide a transformative learning experience for each student to gain a deeper appreciation and a value for serving others.

To prepare for the Telunas Service Trip, our students are meeting every Friday in "Service Groups" to participate in a variety of service-related activities to foster unity among the middle school students. The Service Group Activities are as follows:

  • Service Group Gatherings: Each service groups meets with their teacher leader to openly discuss topics or questions related to the service trip, and complete exercises that foster teamwork, promote critical thinking, develop communication skills, build empathy, and reflect on God's Word.
  • Elementary and Middle School Buddies: Each service group is partnering with a lower elementary "buddy classroom" in order to foster relationship building, develop leadership skills, and provide teamwork opportunities.
  • uKNIGHTed Friday Games: Students participate in challenges and activities to have fun and build relationships within their service group!
