St. Augustine said, "We do the works, but God works in us in the doing of the works." Today, students reflected upon why God wants to help us do good works, and how we were able to serve someone with love today.
Day 2 of Telunas began with a hearty breakfast and devotions. Shortly afterward, middle school students and teachers took on their first assignment, dividing into two groups to head out to the communities of Geranting and Terong. There, students met with local elementary and middle school students, practiced their Bahasa Indonesian greetings and courtesies and leading children in a variety of English lessons and games that they had diligently prepared over the past few months. We are proud to share that ICS students represented themselves and ICS well, allowing God's light to shine through them. Tired from a day of teaching and a new appreciation for all that their teachers do, students closed the day with recreation time, reflecting upon their day and evening devotions.
Heard at Telunas today: "We went to the villages expecting so many differences (language and culture) and realized we actually have much in common."
