My Journey of Transformation and Growth through the

A Wing's Revitalization

This year for WWW, I worked on revitalizing the open space behind the A wing by mixing and laying new cement and planting various plants.  Initially, I was disappointed about not having the opportunity for any off-campus work.  However, witnessing the completion of our project and observing the positive reactions from elementary school students proved to be incredibly rewarding.

Our project taught me a valuable lesson about underestimating myself.  I had reservations about my ability to handle the physical labor involved, but I persevered throughout the entire week, proving my doubts wrong.  We faced some challenges throughout the project, such as some of our plants dying or getting lost, but everything turned out well.  Now, every time I walk by the area behind the A wing, I find myself smiling, knowing that I played a significant role in rejuvenating the space. - Chiara

Embracing Patience and Compassion at Genesis School

Navigating the Genesis School was challenging and a new experience for me.  Attempting to connect and bond with their students with special needs wasn't easy, but I learned to adapt my approach for each unique child and become invested in them with each activity.  This was an invaluable lesson to me about the extraordinary patience needed to bond and care for such individuals, leading to a greater appreciation for the people who commit their lives to do such work on a daily basis. - Brian

Empowering Change Through Service: Unlitter Red Dot &

Habitat for Humanity

During Week Without Walls, Our team, Unmasked Survivors, collaborated with Habitat for Humanity and Unlitter Red Dot.  The highschoolers worked with Habitat for Humanity while the middle schoolers worked with Unlitter Red Dot.  Middle schoolers went to HDBs, picking up trash around the area to provide residents with a clean and safe environment.  The middle schoolers worked non-stop under the bright sun for four hours straight.  The blazing hot sun made us want to quit, but the fact that we were serving the people gave us more than enough motivation.  While we were picking up trash, an old lady came to thank us for what we were doing.  Words cannot possibly express the amount of joy I had then.  It showed me that the service we did this week affects the people.  Our hardwork and dedication during service will not be unappreciated. - Carlon
