In her final year at International Community School (Singapore), Miriam Burnett has been awarded the "20 Year Career Service Award" by the Network of International Christian Schools (NICS) for her years of dedicated work. From her start in 2001 as a Grade 5 teacher to her current role as Activities Coordinator, Ms. Burnett has been a mainstay of the ICS experience for many families.

When asked about her fondest memories of her time at ICS, Miriam says it has to do with watching people grow and mature, especially in their faith, as well as all the wonderful people she met and interacted with. She says, "the people of ICS have been my family."

Over the years, Miriam has seen it all, especially the incredible move from Kampong Bahru to the current campus on Jubilee Road in 2006. She shared that it was such a blessing to see the new gymnasium, basketball courts, field, playgrounds, large canteen, multi-purpose room, and science labs added to the school's facilities. Further enhancements to the Jubilee Road campus included major landscaping works, the addition of classroom facilities, new playground equipment, and more robust safety measures, such as the lightning alert monitor. On the changes to ICS over the years, Miriam says, "I love that through it all, God has been consistent and faithful."

When asked for her advice to others interested in joining the ICS community, Miriam expressed that the biggest thing she loves about the school is its vision and ministry. She is passionate about the work of providing quality education for Christian families and other families that are interested in a values-based, Biblical education. Miriam leaves the school acknowledging that God has a wonderful plan for ICS and encourages our community with the following Bible verses:

Fight the good fight of the faith.
1 Timothy 6:12

Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you whom I love and long for, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, dear friends!
Philippians 4:1

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.
Philippians 4:6

We thank Miriam Burnett for her years of dedicated service and devotion to the ICS community. Congratulations to Miriam for her "20 Year Career Service Award." We wish Miriam success in her future endeavors and many prayers of blessings!
