ICS Shines Bright: Winning 5 Education Excellence Awards
Honeykids Asia and GESS Education have announced the winners of their 2023 Education Awards, celebrating the achievements, efforts, and contributions of the best international schools in Singapore and educators making a global impact.
International Community School (Singapore) was nominated for the Best Small School Award TWO years in a row and the American Curriculum Award and won gold in both categories.
Best Small School of Singapore is a category for schools with under 700 students. As Honeykids stated in their press release, “This school may be small, but it doesn’t mean it scrimps on quality! With a school this size, every child feels heard, accepted, and nurtured. In this school, students are given the opportunity to reach their fullest potential through innovative educational programs.”
Our second Gold Award, the Curriculum Awards (American), belongs to a new category. This award reaffirms our unwavering commitment to providing an American curriculum of unparalleled quality. As noted by HoneyKids, "This is a school that delivers the American curriculum in its true essence, educating the whole student while closely adhering to the Common Core standards."
Alongside our Gold Awards, we are proud recipients of the Silver Award for Digital Technology in Learning. This honor underlines our ongoing dedication to integrating innovative technology and programs into our educational framework, equipping our students with essential skills for the digital age and preparing them for the future.
Our commitment to fostering a warm, inclusive, and supportive school community has been acknowledged with the prestigious Editor's Choice Award for School Where Everybody Knows Your Name. This recognition, which we previously won in 2021, celebrates the heart of our institution, where every student and staff member is valued and appreciated.
We proudly share that Ms. Alicia Bandy has been recognized with the Community Award for Citizenship, representing International Community School (Singapore) with this prestigious global award. This award is presented to individuals or educational establishments demonstrating significant value to the community through imaginative efforts to aid the wider community socially, culturally, or economically. This recognition reinforces our commitment to making a positive impact beyond our classrooms, filling our entire school community with immense pride.
As of 2023, the island hosts approximately 66 international schools, each with varying campus sizes, price points, and curriculum. In 2021, HoneyKids Asia, a parenting and lifestyle platform, introduced the HoneyKids Asia Singapore Education Awards, dedicated to recognizing and celebrating exceptional schools as assessed by a panel of judges from the education sector. In the 2022 awards, ICS secured gold awards for Best Small School and Student Wellbeing and was named Best Primary School by another prestigious award-giving body..
