Campus Haze Update: How We Are Caring for Your Children’s Health & Safety

As haze affects Singapore over the coming days, we want to reassure you that our campus is fully prepared to keep your children safe, comfortable, and active.

Haze levels can shift quickly throughout the day, so our team actively monitors conditions to ensure learning and play happen in a safe environment. Here is how we are protecting your children while they are in our care:

Continuous Monitoring Behind the Scenes

You don't need to spend your day checking air quality apps or worrying about whether it's safe for your child to step outside. Our health team monitors official air quality data at set times right before major activity transitions:

Our staff and teachers receive these updates directly and make instant adjustments on the ground so your child's day moves seamlessly indoors when needed.

How We Adapt Activities to Keep Kids Safe

We don't take a one-size-fits-all approach to the haze. We tailor campus activities based on real-time conditions:

Our Indoor Safe Havens

When outdoor activities are paused, learning and social time don't stop. Our indoor gymnasiums, air-conditioned play spaces, and classrooms are fully equipped to host students comfortably, giving them plenty of space to move around, socialize, and rest out of the haze.

Alignment with National Guidelines

Our haze response plan aligns strictly with Singapore National Environmental Agency (NEA) and Ministry of Education (MOE) directives. Should the 24-hour PSI reach severe levels (Very Unhealthy / Hazardous), all outdoor activities across all grade levels will cease completely, and further health protocols (such as indoor-only ECAs) will be shared immediately.

You can rest assured that your children are in good hands, well cared for, and enjoying their school day safely. If your child has specific respiratory sensitivities or if you have any questions at all, please feel free to reach out to our Health Officer at Healthcenter@ics.edu.sg.
