May 17, Covid-19 Advisory Update

Dear ICS community,

Last school year did not end the way any of us wanted it to. Yet, through it all, God remained faithful, the community encouraged each other even online, and our teachers and staff were able to support every ICS student with excellence and quality care. In light of recent news updates, it feels like last year is repeating. Regardless of what the rest of the school year looks like, we are confident in the ICS community's ability to weather any storm and get through this together.

As many of you are aware, yesterday evening the Ministry of Education (MOE) released news that their primary schools, secondary schools and junior colleges will all revert to home-based learning starting this Wednesday, May 19.

International schools, including ICS, are managed by the Committee for Private Education (CPE). We are still waiting to hear back from CPE regarding the official requirements for international schools and will share updates as soon as we have more information. However, we are preparing for every possibility in order for learning to continue through the end of the school year.

These sudden shifts based on ongoing COVID-19 activity in Singapore require our school and community to remain nimble and flexible. We thank you for all that you've done to support the school throughout this year and appreciate your continued cooperation as we implement these new changes. Our prayer is that our students and teachers are able to finish the current school year well. It has been a privilege to be in-person until this point and we are grateful to serve our ICS families whether we are in-person or virtual.

Blessings,

Dr. James P. Rader
Director
