Bring Your Own Device Program

Yes, the device must be a laptop and minimum system requirements must be met (specifications are provided below).

The security health of the device is the device owner's responsibility. Students are highly recommended to perform the following:

1. Install an antivirus software on your personal device.
2. Set a strong device password.
3. Set the device to lock screen whenever not in use. 

Students are also required to inform the IT team whenever they change their device to manage the transfer of school-software licenses from one computer to another.

In not doing so, the student will be liable and at risk of data and/or privacy breach.

Innocom Technologies Pte Ltd has offered a discounted rate for ICS families under the Bring Your Own Device program. Please note that the transaction will be online and direct from parent-to-merchant. ICS parents just need to provide the student's Campus ID card number along with other payment details to Innocom. 

BYOD Order Form

Students are allowed to bring additional devices (tablets/mobile), however, not all school applications are compatible with these devices. A laptop is still the "main device" to use.

• IT will provide license and installation package of softwares/drivers. Support to troubleshoot installation issues will be provided.

• Management and monitoring of the BYOD Wi-Fi network and connectivity issues (security & policy)

• Management and monitoring of school accounts: Google account, LMS, extensions

• Maintenance and issuance of contingency devices. This will be limited and is upon the discretion of the principals. 

• The school is not responsible for the management of hardware and/or personally-owned software & applications on the BYOD device

• Students are also required to inform the IT team whenever they change their device to manage the transfer of school-software licenses from one computer to another.

IT can help assess and advise, however, IT will not be liable for any damage of the student-owned device.

Students are still bound by the Technology Code of Conduct under the Student Handbook, which prohibits students from using VPN and accessing inappropriate content. While IT does not have any monitoring/tracking device on your student-owned device, IT continuously monitors the school network your the student's device is connected to.

BYOD for students was introduced in a phased approach.

For Grade 12 students returning in the 2024-2025 school year, laptops are owned by the school and still under warranty. 

For all students in G9, G10, G11 and new students in G12, no laptops will be issued by the school. 

No. IT will not be installing any management or monitoring (MDM) software on student's personal devices. However, IT will be monitoring the school WiFi network that a student's personal device is connected to while on campus.
