Senior Spotlight: A Journey of Growth and Leadership at ICS

At ICS, each student's journey is unique and inspiring. As the end of the 2023-2024 school year is approaching, we are excited to feature one of our remarkable seniors, Yihan, who has been a part of the ICS family for six and a half years, starting in grade 5. Let's take a closer look at Yihan's memorable experiences, achievements, and future aspirations.

 

A Time of Cherished Memories

Yihan fondly recalls the high school banquets and WWW (Week Without Walls) service trips. These events provided opportunities for fun and camaraderie and also fostered a sense of community and service. These moments stand out as highlights in Yihan's school journey, creating lasting memories with friends and teachers alike.

When asked for advice to share with fellow students, Yihan emphasized the importance of seeking out challenges and embracing opportunities. This mindset has undoubtedly contributed to his personal and academic growth at ICS.

                 

 

A Leader in the Making

Among the many achievements during his time at ICS, holding the position of Student Council President is particularly noteworthy. This role was more than just a title; it was a platform for growth in communication and leadership. By participating in both the Student Council and as a Student Ambassador, Yihan honed his skills in public speaking, organization, and teamwork. These experiences have been instrumental in shaping his leadership capabilities. 

The culturally and ethnically diverse community at ICS has imparted invaluable collaborative skills. Yihan appreciates how ICS has taught them to approach issues with multiple perspectives and lenses. These skills are not only essential for academic success but also for personal and professional growth in a globalized world.

 

Looking Ahead: A Future in Biochemistry

As graduation approaches, Yihan has clear plans for the future. He intends to major in biochemistry during his undergraduate years. With a strong foundation built at ICS, he is excited to explore this field and see where it leads them. His curiosity and passion for science promise a bright future ahead. 

Yihan's dedication and academic excellence have earned him acceptances into several prestigious universities around the world. He has received offers from the University of Toronto, Imperial College London, University College London, King's College, and the Singapore University of Technology and Design. These institutions recognize his potential and are eager to welcome him into their academic communities.

 

As we celebrate the achievements of our seniors, we are reminded of the incredible journeys our students undertake at ICS. Their stories of growth, leadership, and future aspirations inspire us all. We wish Yihan and all our graduates all the best in their future endeavors and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will undoubtedly make in the world.
