When does the school year begin and end?

ICS’s school year runs from August to May. Please see our 2019-2020 Calendar for more details.

What are your school hours?

Below are the times that ICS’s school starts and ends:
Elementary School: 8:05 am - 3:05 pm
Middle and High School: 8:05 am - 3:10 pm
Office Hours: 7:30 am - 4:30 pm

What type of curriculum does ICS offer?

ICS offers an American curriculum with the option of taking Advanced Placement courses in high school. The American model of education helps students develop critical thinking skills and become well-rounded in multiple subject areas, emphasizing student choice in further pursuing areas of interest.
 
We view education holistically and use a variety of teaching styles in different grade levels and subjects to foster student learning - our goal is to instill a love for life-long learning in every student. Project-based learning is incorporated into all courses to ensure students are applying their learning to real-life situations.
 
ICS teachers integrate technology into the classroom at every grade level, and all students in Grades 4-12 participate in 1-to-1 device programs. Students have opportunities to take courses in visual art, music, Mandarin, physical education, and technology.
 

Where are your teachers from?

ICS has been blessed by hiring quality educators from all around the world. 80% of our teaching staff are from the United States. They are passionate about what they teach and perform above and beyond their classroom teaching responsibilities to ensure that their students receive the care and focus that they need to be successful in life. We currently have 69 teachers on staff, and 51% have advanced degrees beyond a bachelor’s degree. Our teachers have an average of 9.8 years of teaching experience and have been with ICS an average of four years.

Is ICS a Christian school?

Yes. ICS is a part of the Network of International Christian Schools and accredited with the Association of Christian Schools International. All students are required to take Bible and attend a weekly chapel service.

While ICS teaches from a Biblical worldview, our student body is comprised of students from many varying faith backgrounds and more than 30 countries. Please refer to our Who We Are page for more information.

What foreign languages do you offer?

In Elementary school, students are required to take Mandarin as a Foreign Language unless they are in English as a Second Language (ESL) class. In Middle school, Mandarin and Spanish are offered as electives. In High school, students can choose to take Mandarin or Spanish.

Are there any special support services available for students?

Yes, Learning Support and English as a Second Language are available to our students.

What are the tuition and fees?

ICS is a full-service international school. Our tuition fees include GST, textbooks, classroom supplies and technology.

What type of bus transportation services are offered to students?

ICS outsources its school bus transport services to Goh Transport Services Co. PTE LTD. You can contact them directly to request a quote of how much it would cost to bus your child to school.

What school lunch options are available for students?

The ICS cafeteria offers a wide variety of Western and Asian cuisines and snacks. For students in K4-Grade 3, parents have the option of pre-purchasing the meal online. Students are welcome to bring their own snacks and lunch to school.

Does ICS have extra-curricular activities and athletics?

Yes, ICS offers a variety of ECA’s and competitive sports throughout the year.  Please see our Extra Curricular Activities and Athletics pages for more information.

Is there are Parent/Teacher Organization?

Yes, ICS has an active Parent Teacher Fellowship (PTF).  Please see our Parent Teacher Fellowship page for more information.
