Counseling - Social/Emotional
At International Community School (Singapore), our counseling department provides a thorough, structured, and personalized counseling program for each student. We take a strengths-based approach to counseling that enables students to succeed holistically by developing healthy boundaries and expectations, using time constructively, committing to learning, pursuing positive values and a positive identity, and growing social skills.
Counseling team members are not clinical counselors and cannot diagnose or prescribe medication. We work with outside resources to provide appropriate referrals as necessary.
We supplement our counseling procedures with the child safety policy and procedures outlined by our parent organization, NICS. International Community School (Singapore) is committed to child safety and protecting our students. We work closely with Child Protective Services (CPS) and the Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) in honor of that commitment.
