Overview

At International Community School (Singapore), we base our educational program on the American model of education, beginning our school year in mid-August and concluding in late May. When approving course objectives and goals, we utilize the recommendations of US-based professional organizations such as National Council of Teaching of English (NCTE), International Literacy Association (ILA), National Council on Teaching Mathematics (NCTM), National Council of Social Studies (NCSS), National Standards for Art Education (NSAE).

High School Diploma

Our college preparatory High School is conducted in English and students who graduate from our program receive a globally recognized High School Diploma. Our school consistently celebrates a number of National Merit Commended Scholars and Advanced Placement (AP) scholars in the student body. At all High School levels, we offer both honors and AP courses to best prepare our students for the demands of university education. All students enrolled in AP classes are required to take the corresponding AP exam at the end of the school year. Students in Grades 10 and 11 are required to take the PSAT.

The High School experience at International Community School (Singapore) culminates in a senior thesis project. This semester-long course requires students to write a research paper, evaluating and creating knowledge about a topic of personal interest that is often related to a future career or intended area of study.
