English Language Learning Teacher

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Identify the needs of students through diagnostic procedures and align instructional objectives to these needs.

Teach English Language to school students.
-
Deliver lesson plans in accordance with the standards-based American curriculum grades G1 to G5.
-
Plan, prepare, and execute appropriate lessons, utilizing appropriate resource materials and activities.
-
Follow school policies, procedures, rules, regulations, and guidelines and the provisions of the contract.
-
Employ a variety of instructional aides, methods, and materials that will promote best practices in order to reach the whole child as stated in the ICS mission statement.

Communicate with parents, students, and other professional staff regarding student progress (behavioral and academic).

Assess student learning and progress toward learning standards on a regular basis and provide progress reports as required.

Maintain student records as required by the school.

Develop strong Teacher-student bonds, monitor students’ progress, and present information to parents on an ongoing basis.

Maintain a classroom in a clean and educationally stimulating environment.
-
Demonstrate the character qualities of enthusiasm, courtesy, flexibility, integrity, kindness, self-control, perseverance, and punctuality.

Plan and organize Field trips and school events.
-
Participate in Strategic Planning projects.

Attend regular training to promote creativity and innovation.
REQUIREMENTS:
-
Bachelor's degree with specialization in English education (master’s degree preferred).
-
US state-level teaching certification in English education or teaching certification from ACSI.
-
Minimum of 5 years of teaching experience in an American system school, with pedagogical training in elementary education for grades 1 through 5.

TEFL/TESOL Certification
-
Maintain teaching credentials as required through sponsoring agencies (state/provincial education department, ACSI, etc.).

Acquire and maintain teaching credentials as required by the laws of Singapore, NICS, and/or ICS.
-
Proficient in computer skills, including Google Suite applications and Microsoft Office.
