Dr. Joe Beeson, our Director, entered the ministry of Christian education shortly after Bible college. He holds degrees from Arlington Baptist College, Bob Jones University, and Oklahoma State University. Before coming to Singapore, he served with the largest non-denominational Christian school in the United States. He has shared in workshops around the world including Budapest, Hungary; Kiev, Ukraine; and Russia. He has worked with the Ohio Department of Education as a consultant and exam reviewer. He served on the committee to help rewrite the standards for all Ohio schools. His elementary school in Ohio was one of sixteen schools in the US chosen to participate in the “Basic School Project” funded by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. He comments, “My desire is for education to be the tool that helps bring students to a fuller understanding of God and His love for them. Each student should come to know that he or she is a person for whom God gave the ultimate gift – His only Son.” |
Mr. Knute Reierson,our Elementary Principal, came to ICS with over fifteen years of experience. He has served as elementary principal at schools in North Dakota, Minnesota, and Missouri. He entered administration after ten years as a grade four teacher, grade six teacher, and middle school coach. In 1999, Mr. Reierson moved his family to West Africa for two years to minister with International Christian Academy in Bouake, Cote d’Ivoire as teacher and headmaster. Mr. Reierson has three children (all boys) and is married to Rebecca. |

Mr. Robert Newman, our Middle School Principal, is a fairly recent addition to the ICS Faculty. He brings a wealth of experience to the ICS family, ranging from service in the US Military to working in business to teaching. Mr. Newman began teaching Middle School math at ICS and in 2007 assumed his role as principal. His work evidences his creativity, as well as his commitment to and concern for his students. Mr. Newman and his wife, Cynthia, have 9 children, all of whom are grown and living in the US.

Mr. Matt Eiler, our High School Principal, has been at ICS for several years teaching high school science. He has seen ICS grow from a small school of slightly more than 100 to its current size. Throughout those years, Mr. Eiler has worked as senior class sponsor, teacher, and interim principal in the absence of Dr. Beeson. He has a unique perspective on the mission of ICS, and is often chosen by our students as a “favorite teacher.” |
Mrs. Florence Tan serves as the admissions director for ICS. She and her husband have been missionaries in Africa and now in Singapore. They spent a significant number of years among churches on the west coast of the US helping raise awareness of the evangelistic opportunities in Asia. Mrs. Tan is the mother of an ICS student; her son, who graduated from ICS, is a graduate of Virginia Military Institute (VMI). |
Mr. Sam Fleischmann is the school counselor for ICS. Mr. Fleischmann and his wife Noelle came to ICS from the states of Oregon and Alaska in the US, as new college graduates. After beginning his career teaching high school social studies at ICS, he pursued and completed a Masters degree in counselling. In 2007, Mr. Fleischmann assumed the role of school counselor. In this role, he helps students plan for college as well as learn study skills needed to succeed in school. He also works closely with parents to assure that consistent, Biblical advice is given to our students. |
Mr. Peter Cowles, the ICS Business Manager, has truly been a "jack of all trades" since his arrival at ICS. His many years of experience as a businessman and government official helped prepare him for the diverse responsibilities he has undertaken in his role. Mr. Cowles' dedication to ICS is evident in his willing, diligent attitude; he has assisted with tasks ranging from physical labor on and around the ICS campus to fundraising, banking, and obtaining various passes for our students and faculty. He works closely with all of the vendors associated with ICS, and oversees the maintenance and office staff of the school. Mr. Cowles came to Singapore with his wife and daughter, and has several grown children in the US. His sense of humor and calm demeanor are well known around the campus. |
