Elementary Curriculum
At International Community School, we believe the educational process is a partnership between the parents and teachers. Parents play a vital role in the development and education of their children and their success in school. From you, the child learns family values, cultural traditions and customs, and native language skills. Your efforts prepare them to continue their learning adventure at school as thinking, creative, and caring students This curriculum overview has been prepared to help our parents gain a better understanding of some of the abilities and skills that we will help your child to develop through classroom work, field trips, organized play, sports, clubs, and other school programs. The curriculum described in this overview outlines the basic content that your children will be taught in each grade and the expectations for what students are expected to learn according to subject area. We, as partners in your child's education, are responsible for providing him/her with meaningful learning experiences. Each teacher expands upon their curriculum with their professional and personal experience, expertise, or interests to develop a stimulating and positive classroom experience.
We hope this brief overview is helpful in answering your questions regarding curriculum. Open communication between home and school allows for a sharing of expectations. Together, we can help your child develop his/her full potential as lifelong learners.
If you have further questions about any of the information cited, we encourage you to talk to your child's teacher or school principal.
